1. How can I register domains with you?

You have to apply for a membership with DomainersChoice. Please do so by clicking on "Register" and provide your personal details. You will receive an email in due time whether your application has been accepted. Upon successfully applying with us, you will receive your login credentials and can start registering domains at the industry's lowest prices.

2. Once I'm signed up, how do I get started?

The best way to get started is in the "Profiles & Portfolios" menu. You can find three sections there: Address Profiles, DNS Profiles, and Domain Portfolios. In the address profiles you should create a contact address which you want to use for registering and transfering domains. You can create as many different profiles as you wish. In the DNS Profiles section you can enter all domain name servers you wish to use for registering (or transfering) domains. When you create new domain portfolios and groups inside them, you can later sort your registered domains automatically into the right folders. If you wish not to create new portfolios, your domains will be stored in the "Default" portfolio's "Default" group. You can rename the portfolio and group later, you can also move domains from one group to another at any time.

3. What does "Default info for domains" mean when I create a portfolio or group?

This information is included for your convenience. Certain top-level domains have different requirements for the contact information you have to provide. You could create contact profiles for just this reason (e.g. registering .de domains) and pre- select them as default info in a portfolio which you create for storing your (.de) domains. When you choose this portfolio/group on the page "Domain Management" -> "Domain Registration" as the place to store the domains you are about to register, all contact and DNS information will be pre-selected according to the default settings.

4. When I change the default info for domains, does that affect the domains I have already registered?

No.

5. How do I move domains from one group to another?

In "Domain Management" -> "My Domains" you can find all your domains and select those that you want to move from one group to another group. After selecting the domains to be moved, you click on the "Actions" button under the big table, and select "Move". A window will pop up where you can select the new portfolio and group where the domains should be moved to. Confirm with "Ok".

6. Will moving domains to another group affect the contact data or any other data of these domains?

No.

7. What is the difference between "Move" and "Push"?

A "Move" is for moving a domain from one of your portfolio groups to another portfolio group of yours. A "Push" operation will move a domain from one of your portfolio groups to one of another user's. So, don't use the "Push" function unless you want to get rid of a domain (e.g. in case you have sold it to another DomainersChoice member).

8. Will the "Delete" function delete a domain immediately?

Yes! Be very careful with that function!

9. Oops, I have accidentally deleted a domain. I want to recover it now, how to do that?

You can't! That's why we have said that you should be very careful with the delete function! Please contact us at in this case. We will see if we can recover your domain. However, most registries will charge money for that, which you would have to pay... Again, be very careful with the "Delete" function!

10. I have scheduled a deletion at some future date, but now I don't want to delete the domain anymore. How can I cancel the scheduled delete?

Please contact us at .

11. I want to schedule a delete but somehow it doesn't work...

Our system supports a scheduled delete for most domains, but not all. Please contact us at if you encounter any problems.

12. I am searching for a domain (or want to register a domain) with special characters but your system says that this is not supported...

Only a few top-level domains are available for registration with special characters. If you are sure that the TLD you wish to register supports special characters (IDN), but our system refuses the registration, please let us know ()! We will integrate the IDN support for the TLD in question then.

13. In my account balance I find entries like "Reimbursement...". What is that?

In some cases it can happen that the registry refuses the registration of a domain due to some restrictions we could not check beforehand (e.g. some countries forbid the registration of adult-related domain names). If your domain name could not be connected, we will delete it from our database and reimburse you the money that has been charged before.

14. I have registered a domain name and your system reported that the registration was successful. However, my domain is not connected, yet. What should I do?

As outlined in the previous question, some registries forbid certain names to be registered. That means, they will check every name manually before they actually connect them. That procedure can take a few hours, maybe even a few days. For this time, your domain appears in your portfolio, but you won't be able to change any details about that domain. As long as you cannot change any details of that domain, please do not expect it to be connected. As soon as it is connected, we will release this domain and you can start changing details (e.g. name servers, contact data etc.). However, please be patient.

15. I have registered a domain and it is already connected. However, I cannot change any details of that domain...

If a domain has been connected recently, it can take up to two hours before you will be able to change something about it. If this time period is too long for you, please let us know ().

16. What is the difference between a Domain Transfer and a Domain Trade?

Some countries call a domain transfer "Transfer", others call it "Trade". If you want to transfer a domain to us, please first use the "Domain Transfer" operation, which is the most common way to transfer domains. If this does not work ("operation not supported" will be returned), try the "Domain Trade" operation (e.g. Belgian domain names should be traded, not transfered).

17. What is that additional information for .it domains in "Account Settings"-> "Change My Contact Data"?

For registering Italian domain names, you have to send a fax to the Italian Registry. We will prepare the fax sheet for you and send it to you by email. You will then have to sign it and fax it to Italy. However, we also offer that you can upload your signature to our system. In this case, we will fully prepare the whole fax document and take care that it will be sent to Italy. You won't have to do anything anymore after registration.

18. Is it safe to upload my signature to your system? I have a bad feeling!

It is totally understandable that you have your doubts about that. We guarantee that your signature is safe with us. We will only use your signature for preparing the fax sheets to be sent to Italy, and for some bank cheques in your name to fund our company (just kidding!). If you do not wish to upload a signature, please do not do it! The standard procedure will then come into effect, i.e. we prepare the fax sheet to be sent to Italy, send it to you by email, you print it out and sign it, and finally you can fax it to Italy.

19. Is there a time limit when the fax has to be sent to Italy?

It is best to send it as soon as possible after you registered the domain name with us. In our experience, a delay of about 4 to 5 days is still accepted by the Italian registry. After that, the name reservation will be cancelled.

20. I want to register a domain but my account does not have enough funds. What should I do?

Currently, we offer account funding via "PayPal mass payment" to and wire transfer to (Nanjing Imperiosus Technology Co., Ltd. , Bank of China , 148 ZhongShanNanLu , Nanjing , China . Account Number: 800149704508091001 . Swift Code:BKCHCNBJ940.) Please send your funds in Euro. If you send your funds in another currency, we will exchange your money to Euro using the official exchange rate at the day the money arrives in our account. Due to the current fluctuation of exchange rates, it is best if you send your money in Euro so that you can be sure which rate applies (in case you have to exchange your money to Euro).

21. I want to pay via credit card. Why is this not possible?

Credit card companies levy charges for every transaction which would seriously affect the prices we are able to offer you. In order to keep our prices that low, we cannot accept credit card payments.

22. I want to transfer domains out of my account. How do I get the transfer code?

For those top-level domains that support authorisation codes for transfers, you can find the code in the field "Authorization Code" of the edit window for each domain (to be found in "My Domains", then click on "Edit"). If this code is not present, the corresponding registry does not support automatically authorised transfers. Then a transfer without authorisation code has to be initiated (most likely, transfer confirmation emails will be sent out by the registry then).

23. I have transfered all my domains out of my account and want to cancel the membership with DomainersChoice. Will I get my money back?

What? You found someone cheaper? Please let us know! However, in case you really want to cancel your membership, we will reimburse you the money left in your account. Let us know where we should send the money: write an email to . We will reimburse you in Euro.

24. Domainers often use terms I don't understand. Do you know what ... means?

We might be able to help you out: please click [here] to find a list of commonly used terms in the domain industry and their definitions. If the term is not in the list (or not explained well enough), please send an email to .We will be happy to sort things out for you.

25. I have encountered an error that I don't understand. What should I do?

Please write an email to , explaining what you wanted to do and what response you have received from our system. We are happy to assist you in solving your problem!
